  • QuakeCon

We registered for QuakeCon this year!

It's a miracle we got spots because I didn't think about it until almost 3 hours after registration started.  Apparently tons of people were having problems.  No problems and my husband and I both got reserved seats!

    Can't wait!

  • hmmm

I should probably use this thing more.  So much going on but it seems like nothing would be of interest.

Evan is crawling which of course means he is trying to get to anything and everything he shouldn't have.  He's trying to talk and really wants to stand up but he can't get there yet.  He can balance holding on something if you get him standing though.

Looking for a job I guess.  Not trying too hard but kind of seeing what's out there.  If I see something good then I'll apply.

Anybody in Houston know somebody looking for an RN with a BSN? :)

  • Erica Ringle, RN

So I noticed a trend of updating around this time the last two years so I decided it was time to update again.  Our son was born on September 5th (during the second week of the semester) and I finally graduated from nursing school in December :)  It was tough motivating myself to get through that last semester but I made it through ok.  It was a lot of help having my mother in law staying with us to watch our new baby.  I took the NCLEX in February and I am officially a registered nurse!

Ok so that was short and I got in pretty much all the highlights in.

    Wow.

  • Baby :)

So I am terrible at updating and I am procrastinating studying for a test so this will be short.  And it will be in the form of a bulleted list because that's how I am.

    • I am in my second semester of nursing school.  The first semester went decent considering.  Ended up with 3 B's and a C (79.3, only 0.2 away from a B or one question on the final), and it looks like I am heading that direction this semester unless I get my butt going (and this isn't helping...)
    • I am about 5 months pregnant and we just found out it's a boy!  We already have a few things for the little dude and my mom dropped off 2 bags of clothes because she went shopping the day we found out.
    • Only 2 semesters left and I can't wait to finish!  I think I am going to try to do the last semester even though it's right after the baby is born because I don't want to delay a semester and then suck it up.

Ok that wasn't much but I really should read.  We are having a retest of our test from yesterday next week and I want to do better than I did.  Even though I studied a ton, I still got a 76, but don't judge cause the test was freaking hard!!!  I studied way more than the other tests and I got about my average (77).  I was hoping for a B so I wouldn't have to work as hard on the final to get the B I wanted in the class.  The other classes I am working for an A so I have a ton of work to do in these last 3 weeks of class.

  • Nursing School!

I am super excited!  I got accepted to UTHSC Houston School of Nursing!  I had applied for this semester but I wasn't accepted.  I tried again and I get to start in the fall!  I can't wait!  But I am nervous too.  It's going to be hard!  Way different than the Lone Star classes I have been taking for the last few semesters.  I am worried I am going to be the stupid one in my classes (and who wants to be the stupid one?).

Anyway, my online status was updated just before spring break, I got an email from the school last week, and I got my official letter in the mail today.  I was so excited!

Anyway, I should get back to studying.  I took general psych, stat, and history so I could bring up C's and I took ethics and speech so I could apply for TAMHSC School of Nursing just in case I didn't get accepted to UT.  I was crappy about the A&M stuff (I am pretty sure half my stuff got there late because I submitted everything at the last second) but I still got an email to go onto the second application.  I was going to apply but it cost $45 for the background check and another $50 for the supplemental application (after I paid $45 for the first application) so I decided since I already was accepted to UT I wasn't going to mess with it just to see if I would have been accepted.  It would have been nice to go back to College Station but it wasn't practical (I would have had to either move or figure out how to get back and forth, the school isn't as good, and it's probably not any cheaper).

So now I am getting ready.  I need to get all the little things done.  TB test, make sure all my shots are up to date, a physical, drug test, background check, CPR class.  So much to do!

    YAY!!!!
